Day 1 : UK to Funchal
Fly from the UK to Funchal. You will have a private transfer to your first hotel.
Day 2 : Funchal
A day at leisure before enjoying an ‘Evening with Folklore’ – this informal evening includes dinner in a typical Madeira restaurant and is a chance to experience traditional local cuisine, during which you will be entertained by fado singers and local folklore dancers.
Day 3 : Funchal
West Island Tour – an opportunity to view some of the spectacular scenery for which Madeira is renowned. This takes in Camara de Lobos, Cabo Girao, Encumeada, Sao Vicente, Paul da Serra, Ponta do Sol and Ribeira Brava; it also includes lunch in Porto Moniz.
Day 4 : Funchal to Sao Goncalo
You will have a private transfer between hotels.
Day 5 : Sao Goncalo
Spend a relaxing day in and around your hotel – why not explore the Palheiro Gardens?
Day 6 : Sao Goncalo to Funchal
You will have a private transfer between hotels.
Day 7 : Funchal
Sunday Market & Garden – heading east out of Funchal, you will be driven to Ponta do Garajau, which is famous for the statue of Christ the Redeemer. You will then head inland to Santo da Serra to visit the local village – the Sunday Market stalls are set along the main road. Then you can take a walk in the gardens before making your way back to Funchal via the viewpoint of Camoes Pequeno to take in the view over Machico valley.
Day 8 : Funchal to UK
You will have a private transfer to the airport, before flying home.
