Day 1 : UK to Paris
Travel to Paris by Eurostar. You will have a private transfer to your first hotel. In the afternoon, discover the craftspeople of the Marais on a three hour guided tour. Away from the hustle and bustle of the large retailers and avenues, you will meet a few individuals and be able to learn more about their trades. Your guide will also talk you through the historical marks left by the artisans on this district and its unequalled charms.
Day 2 : Paris to Montbazon
You will have a private transfer to the railway station, before travelling by first class rail to Tours. On arrival, enjoy a four hour guided tour in Tours and Villandry Castle, after which you will be taken to your hotel.
Day 3 : Montbazon
Visit the castle of Chenonceau before discovering the Clos Luce and ending the day with a glass of champagne in the castle of Amboise.
Day 4 : Montbazon
Today, you will visit Blois and the castle of Chambord.
Day 5 : Montbazon to Orleans
Today you will be transferred to Orleans before spending the day exploring the town and following in the footsteps of Joan of Arc. Despite its central location in the country, a significant part of the historical centre of this town avoided damage during the Second World War and there are many fine buildings to admire.
Day 6 : Orleans to Paris
This morning you will take the train to Paris. On arrival your driver guide will collect you and take you to the Palace of Versailles (with priority access), home to Louis XIV, Marie Antoinette and over 300 years of French history. On your return to the city centre, enjoy a wine tour with a professional oenologist, including a tasting at two different wine cellars along with cheese and artisan charcuterie.
Day 7 : Paris to UK
Enjoy a morning at leisure, before you have a private transfer to the railway station for your Eurostar train back to the UK.
